If you are an adult who is currently working, but thinking about getting your degree, there is no need to worry; it’s never too late once you’re able to find the right institution to facilitate your desire.  Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies has just the program designed to suit students just like you who need to earn a degree while working to maintain both themselves and their family.  As a result, this would be a great place for you to pursue your studies whether it is an undergraduate or graduate degree.  Here are two programs offered by the Liberal Studies department.

Bachelor of Arts in Liberal

When pursuing your Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies you will be engaged in a lot of reading, writing, discussion and reflection about the life and the actions of human beings and the implications that they have on our life.

Requirements

In order to counted eligible for this degree you will be required to obtain at least 120 credits.  These can all be earned at Georgetown or transferred from another college.  You will also need a minimum GPA of 2.0.  In order to earn the required credits you will need to do some Core courses, electives, non-Western studies courses and concentration courses.  For your core courses there will be 13 courses that you are required to complete, while you will need to do 16 three credit concentration courses to get the necessary 48 credits.  You will also need 7 three credit electives which must be courses which are not included in your concentration.  Finally you will need two non-western courses to amount to 6 credits.  These can be courses which are used to complete other types of degrees.

Master of Arts in Liberal Studies

In order to obtain a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies a student will be required to obtain at least 30 credits along with an acceptable thesis.  In order to obtain the 30 credits students will need to do courses from their specific field which amounts to 18 credits and do electives from within the Liberal Studies program amounting to 9 credits.  Finally there is a 3 credits thesis writing course that all students are required to complete.  Just as in the case of the undergraduate program the masters program is mostly focused on Human Values.
